Accomplished alto saxophonist and award-winning composer ³Sweet² Sue Terry began her professional career in Hartford, Connecticut, where she was a cum laude graduate of the Hartt School and a protégé of saxophone great Jackie McLean. She has worked with such notables as Dr. Billy Taylor, Clark Terry, All Jarreau, Wallace Roney, Walter Bishop Jr., Dr. John, Chaka Khan, and Diane Reeves and appeared as a jazz soloist with the National Symphony, Brooklyn Philharmonic, and New York Pops. She has recorded with Charlie Persip, Clifford Jordan, and DIVA and leads her own group Terra Mars, whose debut recording, The Troubadours (Consolidated), features her writing as well as her playing. Featured in the book Madame Jazz, Sue has been universally praised by critics in the U.S. and Europe, one of whom sums up, ³One should almost say that the young lady is born for her instrument.
